Many people don’t realize what they have until that is taken away from them. That’s human nature and Singaporeans are humans too. But as an outsider I can see with my own eyes and experience, what Singapore is as compared to my own country in terms of infrastructure, wealth, life, growth and facilities.
One man who was instrumental in building Singapore to what it is today was Lee Kuan Yew. People may not refer to him as Mahatma Gandhi, but his efforts are in no terms less than the great man.
Seeing him pass on to a place of rest is sad and mournful, but celebrating his life would be a fitting tribute for all Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans alike.
May he Rest in Peace.
